This listing is for the KIT to hook my rug hooking design "Chicken Mat #3", 8" x 8". If you know how to hook this is a perfect beginner project.
Also, a great kit for veterans to hook up quickly or to teach a friend to hook. What a fun gift for your chicken loving friends.
It makes a great trivet for a tea pot or place it in a basket or use it to top an antique stool. Hooked with a fun black/white polka dot reversible wool and touches of red and yellow, it will brighten your cozy abode.

This kit includes:
1. The pattern on cotton monks cloth OR primitive linen, select your choice.
2. 100% mill dyed wool fabrics, cut in #8 (1/4" wide) strips.
3. Instructions of where to use the colors in the wool pack and a color photo.

The kit DOES NOT include a hook or finishing tape or yarn.
It DOES NOT include instructions on how to hook.

The last photo shows how the kit comes packaged. Included is a list of wool fabrics with where to hook the wool and finishing tips. The wool in the kit will be cut in a #8 (1/4" wide) strips.

There is a generous amount of wool in the kit, based on what I used while hooking it. If you hook tighter or higher than I do, you may need more wool which you are welcome to purchase.

Special Orders are non returnable. Wool Kits and Wool Packs that have been cut in strips for rug hooking are not refundable.

Which Backing Fabric should I choose?

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.

Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.

Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.

Do you refund shipping overage charges?

Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
