Rug Hooking KIT, Sunflower Mug Rugs, K123, DIY Rug Hooking with Wool Fabric, Wide Cut Rug Hooking

$45.00

Sunflower Mug Rugs KIT contains the pattern and wool fabric to hook your own mug rugs.

The four sunflowers measure approximately 5" x 5" each and are hand drawn on a 20" x 20" backing fabric. The outside raw edges of the backing fabric have been serged to prevent raveling while hooking.

Select options in option box:
1) backing fabric of cotton monks cloth or primitive linen
2) wool uncut as in photo 2 or cut into #8 (1/4" wide) strips as in photo 3

This kit includes:
1) Hand Drawn Pattern on your choice of monks cloth or primitive linen with a 4 x 6" color photo.
2) Wool Pack for hooking the mug rugs with either uncut wool or cut in #8 strips. The wool fabrics may vary slightly from original selections.
3) Wool Piece for the back of mug rugs.
4) Instructions on how to finish them after hooking

Amount of wool in kit and the wool pack is based on how much I used to hook these four mug rugs plus extra. If you hook higher or tighter than I do, or with a different cut than #8, you may need extra wool and are welcome to purchase more.

This kit does not include a hook or instructions on how to hook. You will also need a hoop or frame.
There are many great sites that can help you with instructions on how to hook.

Which Backing Fabric should I choose?

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.

Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.

Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.

Do you refund shipping overage charges?

Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
