Fat 1/4 yard, California Gold, Hand Dyed Wool Fabric for Rooking Wool and Applique, W527, Rich Gold, Primitive Gold, Golden Check

Sorry, this item has sold.

1) fat 1/4 yard of 100% wool fabric that I have hand dyed with a rich gold color I call "California Gold". The approximate measurement is 16" x 28".

I have over dyed a small check with this bright and rich gold recipe. It may look a bit eyepopping gold in the photos, but with the deeper woven threads of a khaki brown in the original check, it will dull down quite considerably when hooked. Beautiful for sunflowers, mums, and other Fall flowers and vegetables, fruits, fields, hay stacks, etc.

It's a wonderful primitive gold!! The last two photos show some of my other gold listings for comparison.

This wool is a medium weight wool, a bit of a looser weave to it, suitable for wide cut (#8 and wider) rug hooking and also great for applique and sewing projects. It is ready to use.

Keep in mind that monitors display color tones differently, so these may look a bit different in your home, depending on your lighting. These photos were taken under bright studio lighting, so the fat quarters may be a bit deeper and less bright in your house.

Which Backing Fabric should I choose?

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.

Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.

Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.

Do you refund shipping overage charges?

Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
