This listing is for the rug hooking PATTERN "Prairie Floral, 26" x 50" which you can purchase on either Primitive Linen or Cotton Monks Cloth.
Prairie Floral is my latest design and is an adaptation of antique rugs and folk art with floral themes. This design is fun to hook! I used an 8.5 cut and chose a great mixture of my "stash" wool in my favorite colors. I also used a pillow in my living room to draw out colors from that so that the rug would work in that room. The background is a mix of dusty browns, browns, medium browns and some dusty dark blue. I hooked each flower a little differently, using my scraps and stash as I went, almost in a hit and miss fashion. Included are off whites, blush pinks, soft yellows, corals, reds, purples, greens and blues.
I have hand drawn the pattern on primitive linen or monks cloth with at least 4 inch borders. Care has been taken to draw all straight lines on the grain line so that your rug will finish square. The outer raw edges of the foundation cloth have been serged to prevent raveling while hooking.
This listing DOES NOT include the hooked rug which is shown as a sample.

Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.
Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.
