This listing is for the KIT to hook my design "Snowman Mat 2". The design measures 8" x 8". This snowman features a stocking hat.

If you know how to hook or are planning to take a class, this is a perfect beginner project. Also, a great kit for veterans to hook up quickly or to teach a friend to hook. It makes a great trivet for a tea or coffee pot. See photo 5.

This kit includes:
1. The pattern on cotton monks cloth OR primitive linen, select your choice.
2. 100% wool fabrics that I have hand dyed and/or felted. Cut in #8 (1/4" wide strips).
3. Instructions of where to use the colors in the wool pack and a color photo.

The kit DOES NOT include a hook, hoop or frame, or finishing tape or yarn.
If you need a hook, take a look at my selection here:

If you need a frame here is a link to my supplies section for you to see what I offer:

It DOES NOT include instructions on how to hook. If you purchase this kit, I recommend that you find a rug hooking class in your area to learn how to hook primitive rugs.

There is a generous amount of wool in the kit, based on what I used while hooking it. If you hook tighter or higher than I do, you may need more wool which you are welcome to purchase.

If you would like to purchase JUST the pattern, see listing P137:

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Custom and personalized orders

Please feel free to contact me about special orders by clicking on the "request a custom order" button. I have a lot of inventory that is not listed.

If you are looking for a specific color or texture, I will be happy to check my inventory. If you are able to send a photo, that is a great help to me in understanding what you are looking for.

Special Orders are non returnable. Wool Kits and Wool Packs that have been cut in strips for rug hooking are not refundable.

Designs and patterns that have been customized and/or personalized cannot be returned.

Which Backing Fabric should I choose?

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.

Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.

Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.

Do you refund shipping overage charges?

Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
