Rug hooking PATTERN for Snowman Mat 2. The pattern measures 8" x 8". The finished rug is used as an example only and is not included in the listing. The rug hook is not included in this listing.
A perfect beginner project if you know how to hook. You will need a hook and frame to work on this project. See my Supplies section for options: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DesignsInWool?ref=listing-shop-header-item-count§ion_id=7706447
Also great for veteran rug hookers. Hook it up quickly to give to a friend, or to teach someone to hook. Use as a trivet for tea or coffee pot. Place it in a basket or use it to top an antique stool.
The backing fabric is about 19" x 20" or more to make it fit on most lap top frames or in a 14" hoop. I have serged the outside raw edges of the foundation fabric to prevent raveling while hooking. Choose your choice of foundation fabric in the Options Box.
You can also purchase the pattern and wool together in a kit, see listing K120:
It makes a good companion piece to the Snowman Mug Rugs (shown in the sixth photo). Here are links to that pattern and wool pack, each sold separately:

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.
Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.
Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.
Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
