Two fat quarter yards of hand dyed 100% wool fabric. Each measures about 16" x 28".
I have over dyed a natural and gray houndstooth check and a fluffy natural herringbone weave with a red recipe that reminds me of Old World Santa Red or Old Barn siding. This color would also be great for flowers, houses, fruits, leaves, berries and especially perfect for Fall and Autumn projects.
This wool fabrics are medium weight, most suitable for wide cut hooking #6 and wider. It has been hand dyed by me, prepared and ready to go for your next project. Besides rug hooking and applique, it will work great for wool quilts, table runners, pincushions, make-dos, pin keeps, purses, pouches...
Keep in mind that your screen or monitor may display colors differently. Reds are really hard to photograph.
In my house, by the window it is a rich rustic warm red. Away from the window it is a soft muted brick red.
These photos were taken under bright studio lighting, so the wool may be a bit brighter than in your own lighting. It's a wonderful color! The basket of paisley and the books in the background help the camera more accurately read the colors. The paisley is a warm dark red and the two red books are coordinate with the wool so well.

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.
Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.
Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.
Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.

Using for rug hooking a house. Just enough contrast to use one piece for front of house and the other for the side. Of course, it would be great for a Santa, but I’m already thinking of using the leftovers for a Valentine heart.
