This listing is for the rug hooking PATTERN "Annabelle, the Wandering Sheep". This is for the pattern ONLY. The finished rug is used as an example only and is not included in the listing. A 4" x 6" photo is included.
The design is 14" x 18" and is hand drawn on either monks cloth or primitive linen, whichever you prefer. Monks cloth is great for all cuts of wool. Primitive linen is better for wide cuts, #8 (1/4") and wider. The design is surrounded by a 4" border to make it fit on most lap top frames or in a 14" hoop. I have serged the outside edge to prevent raveling.
This design was featured in the January/February 2016 issue of Rug Hooking Magazine. It is a fun rug to hook and it is a good choice for beginners. I recommend that if you have never rug hooked before, that you do a google search in your area for rug hooking teachers to get you off to a good start. Or you might search for YouTube videos on primitive rug hooking. The pattern does not come with instructions.
I used a #8 cut (1/4" wide strips) to hook this design. For the border I used a plaid of teals, blacks, reds and rusts. The barn is a mixture of red textures. Annabelle is hooked with a number of cream wool textures and for the house I used various white/gray textures.

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.
Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.
Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.
Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
