Sorry, this item has sold.

This bundle of wool selvages includes 100 pieces, hand dyed and mill dyed, ready for wide cut hooking, applique and wool crafting. It is a OOAK (one of a kind) bundle.
The first three photos show the selvedges you will receive.
See video and other photos for a few ideas on how to use wool selvages (also spelled "selvedges").
Most of these strips are around 3/4" - 1" wide and about 15"-16" long. All pieces are new 100% wool ready for all your small wool stitchery projects.

This bundle includes a great mix of textures and colors. Ten strips each of reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, purples, browns, whites, grays, blacks.

The "quillie" flowers on a stick were really fun and easy. Quillie is a technique of wrapping fabrics in a circle.
The sticks came from my backyard and I just attached them with a bit of glue. I tied on 5" of green selvage for the leaves. You could cover the back with wool, but I left them as is. I like primitive :)

I made a couple of pincushions by wrapping the selvages together in fun colors and gluing them to the top of jars lids. Selvages even look so cute just rolled up and put in an antique tin. You can see that look at the back of the photo with craft ideas.

I hooked a heart on primitive linen, then stitched it to a wool background piece and made a small pillow. For hooking with selvages it helps to have a hook with a wide shank, see my Hartman Hooks in the supplies section. 9mm would work best, but if you already have an 8mm that works fine, too, just be sure to use the wide part of the shank to make the hole in the linen or foundation fabric big enough to pull these wide strips through. I love the look of these wide strips hooked! Supply Section: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DesignsInWool?ref=seller-platform-mcnav§ion_id=7706447

I thought it would be cute to cut short strips in shades of green and glue them or pin them to a styrofoam cone to make a primitive Christmas tree. Haven't got around to that, yet!! Oh so many ideas!

Photos were taken under bright photo light. They may appear more subdued in your home lighting.

Which Backing Fabric should I choose?

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.

Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.

Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.

Do you refund shipping overage charges?

Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
