This listing is for the rug hooking PATTERN "Two Sheep and Bird". Options for ordering on either monks cloth or primitive linen.
A 4" x 6" photo is included with the pattern.
It measures 24" x 36" and is hand drawn on the foundation fabric with at least 4 inch borders. Care has been taken to draw all straight lines on the grain so that your rug will finish square. The raw edges of the fabric have been serged to prevent raveling while hooking.
This design is from my rug design collection and is based on antique rugs and folk art with sheep themes. Every rug hooker should have a "sheep" rug! It's a great way to honor that wonderful animal who shares his or her warm fleece with us and makes our craft what it is!
I hooked this design with an 8-1/2 cut wool, using a multitude of dark wool textures and plaids for the background. The sheep were hooked with grays and off whites. Their bird friend was hooked with a mix of blue green textures and plaids. I love the colorful border that gives a spark to the rug. These sheep definitely love their "meadow".

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.
Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.
Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.
Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
