This listing is for the rug hooking PATTERN "Squirrel and Pumpkin", 12" x 14". It is an original design of Designs In Wool. I have hand drawn the design on the backing fabric, drawn straight on the grain to prevent your finished rug from being skewed. It has 4" inch borders that make it fit over most lap frames. The raw edges of the fabric have been serged to prevent raveling. A 4" x 6" photo accompanies the pattern.
This whimsical primitive pattern will be a fun addition to your autumn decor.
You can see a finished sample included in the photos to give you an idea of how I hooked this rug. The 7 inch tall squirrel was hooked with a fun textured gray wool and outlined with a checked wool of brown and tan. The orange pumpkin is surrounded by a khaki spot dyed wool and primitive oak leaves grace each corner.
This pattern is great for beginning rug hooking. I recommend that you sign up for a primitive rug hooking class or workshop.
Veteran rug hookers can hook this up in a few hours, ready to add as a decorative piece during the wonderful season of Autumn. Place it in a basket, make it for a bench or stool, turn it into a pillow. It would be really cute with a prodded edge. Mine is used to line a basket. It would make a great gift for that friend or relative who loves all things primitive and fall themes.
The 3rd shows the monks cloth and primitive linen choice. The 2nd photo shows how it will come drawn up. This one is on monks cloth.

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.
Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.
Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.
Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.
