Rug Hooking KIT, Hit and Miss Star Ornaments, K116, DIY Christmas Ornaments, Holiday Stars Kit or Wool Pack, Colorful Star Ornies

Shipping to United States: $7.95

Sorry, this item has sold.

Rug Hooking KIT "Hit and Miss Star Ornaments" includes:

1) Hand Drawn Pattern on your choice of monks cloth or primitive linen.
2) Wool Pack for hooking the ornaments with either uncut wool or cut in #8 strips (1/4" wide). (see photos)
3) Fat 1/8 yard to use for the backs of the ornaments.
4) Instruction sheet with a 4" x 6" photo with suggestions how to hook the stars and how to finish them after hooking.

This kit does NOT include a hook or instructions on how to hook. See below for links to hooking supplies.

There is a generous amount of wool in this kit. The amount of wool is based on how much I used to hook these four ornaments plus extra. If you hook higher or tighter than I do, or with a different cut than #8, you may need extra wool and are welcome to purchase more.

You can also order just the wool if you would like to use it for other rug hooking, applique and sewing projects. Order it either uncut or cut in #8 (1/4" wide) strips. If you order wool pack with cut strips, the fat 1/8th yard will not be cut unless you write a note to me that you would like that cut as well. It is used for the backs when finishing.

These four ornaments measure approximately 5" x 5" each and are hand drawn on a 20" square backing fabric to make it fit on most lap frames or in a 14" hoop. The raw edges of the backing fabric have been serged to prevent raveling while hooking.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Custom and personalized orders

Please feel free to contact me about special orders by clicking on the "request a custom order" button. I have a lot of inventory that is not listed.

If you are looking for a specific color or texture, I will be happy to check my inventory. If you are able to send a photo, that is a great help to me in understanding what you are looking for.

Special Orders are non returnable. Wool Kits and Wool Packs that have been cut in strips for rug hooking are not refundable.

Designs and patterns that have been customized and/or personalized cannot be returned.

Which Backing Fabric should I choose?

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.

Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.

Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.

Do you refund shipping overage charges?

Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.

Wonderful kit! Just what I was looking for! Quick shipping. Thank you!

I have only recently started rug hooking and I am just finishing up the first of the stars and I really like it. I already have my eye on another of DesignsInWool's rug hooking kits. But first, the stars! Love this shop!
