I started rug hooking in 1998. At the time I was an
avid quilter and hesitated to start another craft. But
my sister, Carol, who had been rug hooking since 1989
kept asking me to give it a try and I finally gave
in...and guess what... I was hooked!
I
started dyeing my own wool and drawing designs. In
2001, while living in Oswego, Illinois, I started
"Crestview Cottage" and began selling my hand dyed wool
and teaching rug hooking.
In 2005, my husband and I
moved back home to Minnesota and I renamed my business
"Designs in Wool".
In November,
2011 we relocated to sunny California where I will
continue to offer my patterns, wool and supplies on line
through my two websites which includes this site:
www.designsinwool.com and
www.etsy.com/shop/DesignsInWool. Check it
out... Etsy is a wonderful shopping experience for
handmade and vintage.
My
rug patterns are influenced by my love for folk art and
the whimsical designs of early rug hookers. I have
been drawing and doodling flowers, houses and trees and
geometric designs in my notebooks and journals since I
was a small girl. I'm always filling up notebooks and
will keep sharing patterns as I finish them. I
love to dye wool as much as I love to hook. Please
visit my
Etsy shop where I sell hand dyed wool
and felted wool ready for hooking and appliqué;
flower pins; ornaments patterns and wool packs for
hooking my patterns.
Thanks for visiting!
